  • II Vercelli Book è un codice in lingua anglosassone, redatto alla fine del X secolo. L’eccezionalità del manoscritto risiede nell’unicità dei testi che contiene, nelle storie e nelle leggende che ruotano intorno al suo arrivo a Vercelli. Esso è l’unico di quattro manoscritti di questa tipologia a essere conservato, fuori dal territorio inglese, gli altri tre sono a Exeter, alla British Library di Londra e alla Bodleian Library di Oxford.

     

  • The Vercelli Book is a code in Anglo-saxon language, written at the end of X century. The exceptional character of this manuscript is in the uniqueness of the texts it contains, in the stories and legends around its arrival in Vercelli. It is the only one of four manuscripts of this kind that is kept outside the English territory, the three other are in Exeter, at the British Library in London and at the Bodleian Library in Oxford.

Le caractère exceptionnel du manuscrit se trouve dans l’unicité des textes qu’il contient, dans les histoires et les légendes qui tournent autour de son arrivée à Vercelli. Il s’agit du seul parmi les quatre manuscrits de ce type qui est gardé hors du territoire anglais, les trois autres sont à Exeter, à la British Library à Londres et à la Bodleian Library à Oxford.
